ABOUT US

The Eta Delta Chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International was formed in 1987 on Cal Poly’s campus. On May 21, 1988 it received its official charter. The Eta Delta Chapter was present at Cal Poly for 12 strong years when it died out in 1999. On March 3rd, 2006 the chapter was recolonized, and after two years of hard work, the colony received its charter on May 31th, 2008.

Our chapter is thriving in 2020 with 76 brothers strong. We have been hard at work this year with much of it paying off. Despite the effects of COVID-19, the brothers remain focused on their academics, posting a chapter-wide GPA of 3.64, good enough for 2nd in IFC. Several brothers have taken on huge external leadership roles in both IFC, ASI, and other clubs and organizations on campus. ACE (Altruistic Campus Experience) was also a great success this year, in which we hosted our Suicide Awareness Week to help support our philanthropy, the Amazing Day Foundation. As the chapter continues to grow in strength and influence, our brotherhood grows stronger than ever before. We look forward to welcoming new pledges with open arms as fall rush quickly approaches.

With our signature Suicide Awareness Week seeing huge success each year at Cal Poly, winning Mr. Fraternity in 2019, and accepting campus-wide and national awards, Eta Delta is prepared for a strong future. While we are medium in size, we are strong in brotherhood, character, and accomplishments, making us strong contributors to the Interfraternal Council, Cal Poly, and San Luis Obispo communities.
